SOMETHING GOOD HAPPENS TO THE WINCHESTER HOTEL

from Name your topic

high and dry said...

IT'S ABOUT TIME THAT SOMETHING GOOD HAPPENS TO THE WINCHESTER HOTEL'
IT DESERVES IT.

THE FORMER ESTABLISHMENT DIDN'T REALLY HAVE WHAT IT TOOK TO STAND UP FOR THE GOOD NAME. IT SLOWLY FESTERD INTO A HANGOUT FOR LOW LIFEDRUG DEALERS,
PLEASE EXCUSE THE WORDING AS THERE WERE RESPECTABLE PATRONS AND THEY KNOW WHO THEY ARE. THE PROPRIETERS EVENTUALLY FELL TO THE DARKSIDE OF ONE OF THE TOWNS BIGGEST PROBLEMS, ALLOWING LOW LIFE DRUG DEALERS TO HANG AND DISTRIBUTE DRUGS.
PROFIT AT ANY COSTS! GREED AND STUPIDITY GROWS RAMPADE WHEN MONEY IS INVOLVED ESPECIALLY WITH PREVIOUS PROPRIETERS.

KUDOS TO THE BUILDINGS OWNER FOR RECOGNIZING THAT THERE WAS ABOUT TO BE A UGLY SITUATION BREWING.

ANY COMMENTS?
GOOD LUCK TO WHOEVER REOPENS THIS PLACE ' HOPE THEY DO IT JUSTICE

When grass grows on Main Street

from Name your topic

When Grass Grows on Main Street.

Please create a new Post
As a fundamental rule we as citizens should not let grass grow on Main Street (the sidewalks).
There also should be an ordinance on this that the town fathers must also abide.

Our lovely town always looks like it needs a shave
Or our day has passed

Just look at the Tome Steps by Town Hall.
The corner of High Street and Main Street.
Many of the yards throughout town and the sidewalks that links them in the North end.

Pennsylvania Speeders

from Name your topic

How about a topic
"If you have Pennsylvania Tags you are probably speeding!"

The odd of this being true better than anything in Vegas or AC .

Barney Fife

Congratulations to the New Mayor and Council

Congratulations,
to those who selflessly stepped up to the plate and are on the town's team.

Feel free to express opinions and comments (hopefully positive)
on any side of issues to those who can shape our town in the next several years.

Trains in Town

from Name your topic

Trains in Town

Dear Sir:
We would like to offer an opinion on an issue which affects the quality of life with in our humble hamlet.

That would be the inexcusable practice of Norfolk Southern parking unattended running trains within town limits for hours and days on end.

We believe that most in town are familiar with this problem;
we also believe most are familiar with our town’s government lacking the courage to do anything about it. We would suggest that the town pass an ordinance making it a crime for anyone or any entity to run an internal combustion engine with in town limits for more than 4 consecutive hours.
We would then send a certified copy of this ordinance to the Norfolk Southern manager of the Port road line.
After said warning if a train were to be parked and ran past the established time limit we would then instruct the Chief of police to arrest the crew of said train, when they show up.

This WILL get Norfolk Southern attention, as it is clear that they at present have no intention of being a good corporate neighbor.

Now if our town fathers would just have the cajones to do some thing about it.

I am your humble servant,

Amicus Publicus

PS
If you feel it appropriate please do start a new topic thread for comment on the train issue.

The Town needs a good Spring Cleaning!

from Name your topic

We need a good Spring Town Cleaning!

  • Where are town limits?
  • Who is responsible for cleaning the sides of the roads?
The trash on the side of the roads in and out of Port Deposit is horrible.
Old tires, paper, plastic bags, aluminum cans and what else who knows.

But when you drive past it makes us look like we are uncaring.

Do you think that a marquis in town celebrating the next town event may enhance turnouts?

from Name your topic

Hello,
I read someone’s comment on the April 14th chili-fest that many town folks either did not know about or just did not stop by to support. I did hear though that it was a success but not as many people as in past years. For me, I just did not know until the last minute and had other plans. As well the canceled Port-Fest which this year needed helpers.I was unaware of this too.

My Topic is this:
Do you think that a marquis in town celebrating the next town event may enhance turnouts?

- This is separate from the Marina Park sign which never changes -- and if you are from in town tend to ignore since you see it all the time.so that the sign either has the next town event or is open.
