Here is a place to document those who travel in excessive speed on our Main Street
Obviously,
no one has a speed gun to know the exact speed, so be fair.
Please list the following:
- Date and Time
- License plate number
- and of course your comments on what you observed
...as well go ahead and disagree!
the real goal is try to slow traffic down
so that we never have a tragedy.

Did not see this before
Could I make a list!
problem is that they-
DO GO TO FAST TO SEE THEIR TAGS.
Though credit where credits due
Our officer Randy has been pulling many of them over (PA mostly out of state).
To bad we cannot get the money as a town, we would be rich!
Our Town officers may be responsible drivers, but the State Police who pass on Main street need to get real and slow down.
Can we ticket them?
Why do they need to go so fast without sirens or lights?
I have called to complain but they say that they cannot comment on Police actions like that.
That is no answer!
And I am fearful of ALL childrens safety.
I saw a Maryland Environmental Service (MIS) white pickup truck today doing well over 40 maybe close to 50 mph through town with lights flashing?
Why would they need to go so fast and for what emergency that could not take an extra couple of seconds.
And no I could not see their license going way too fast for that.
Why are large truck allowed to go on Main Street?
Trying to pass traffic on a double line this Red Toyota Pickup with Maryland Tag # 76G827 MD
Poor guy was mad and maybe late for work too!.
I guess I should be happy you have the same problem in Port Deposit as we do in Bowmansville and that is so sad as no matter how much I complain to officials nothing is done to stop the constant speeding through town so this is apparently a state-wide problem and the best way to get something done about it is to make sure the next governor pledges to do something! I have tried to get pedestrian crosswalks and speed awareness risers here for years to no avail while New Holland has had them successfully installed. I guess the reason they won't install them in Bowmansville is because it makes too much sense.
The speeding continues. I have contacted the ACLU and they appear interested...stay tuned! There is more at stake than speeding. Are you all aware your property taxes are paid on property ending in the center of the roadway? So other people get to use the roadway free and you pay the property tax on the road base but have no say about speeders. This state is going to pay big time when the ACLU takes them to court!
Did the town put a Police station towards the North side of town?
Always one black car with dog parked in the wrong direction- no lights or flashers.
Son of a gun is there several nights a week
whether personal or for business it sure look strange.
