Port Deposit is a town bonded by our citizen volunteers.
That is what makes this town more Mayberry then other towns .
We are a community of volunteers
Whether donating time for a church, a non-profit or are part of our local government process; most of this effort is donated time for the greater good of the community.
"Oh but you should get paid!"
We often do things selflessly,
we do not want fuss or praise... not really,
but we pour our heart into the effort.

For whatever reason we do something, the reward or payment for our efforts is often not realized at the moment of our deed, but usually days or even years later
when we know that we made a difference
in someone’s life or helped weave the fabric of our community.
There is nothing wrong for being recognized for your efforts
and for those who have gone before donating their time and effort.
A belated thank you from us.
Now We now proudly announce ...

Since March is short for this first nominee
We are submitting the first citizen of the month
Rob Flayhart
Though Rob is currently Mayor, Rob has selflessly over the time in office given of his time, money, tools to help those in need.
As one citizen, stated today, “Never in recent memory, has a mayor ever taken so much time to help others with their disasters. Rob is a good man!”
Another story goes that another citizen too lost a lot considerable collection of model trains to a flood.
“Rob, upon hearing this took his own compressor his own materials (CRC) took the trains apart and cleaned them to save what he could.”
“Rob is there all hours of the day and night for most any emergency He is involved with passion and heart
He is a man who is not afraid to get his hands dirty to solve a problem.”
For this and probably pages more reasons why, we are proud to have Rob be our first citizen of the month.
Thank you for making Port a better place to live!

Here Here!
this one is for you Rob!
Sorry to see you not run.
Someone will have big shoes to fill.
You do have heart!
Rob, you came in with spirit and high hopes. Obviously someone else noticed your efforts were real and honorable. We did. You still have my/our vote’s. Kim also has been good for this town.
Congratulations.
(Is there a cash reward too like the Nobel prize?, A free trip to Disney world?)
You get no respect for all your efforts.
It is true you and Kim have put a lot of effort into this town and for what?
Well the difference shows and if your ears are burning it is because many are now recognizing this.
Like who WILL or can fill your shoes? You are a person who gets involved.
Sorry also that you decided not to get re-elected.

Harold, Bo, Brad inc??? Have you lost your mind!
There are so many people who need to be recognized for there efforts.
The whole fire company for getting up all hours day and night.
That has to be tough!
-and rough on your families too!
Rob,
you handsome devil!
DUFFY FROM WINCHESTERS!
Always thought Rob looked like
George Thorogood.
but can he sing?
You done good Rob!
Anyone who would loose a cushy job with the state/County for the betterment of their town - is ok with me!
It has been a quite weekend in town, not too much going on, the Easter Holiday and all, Have you have all lost your minds?
though I agree with Rob for this honor
I am conerned too that this town is ready for an intervention!
Though we may have never had it - we have certainly lost it as compared to other communities
If so, since many need help we may qualify under some group or town plan for medical assistance - *(that might have a co-pay for prescriptions) It appears that some have may have already started to self-medicate.
Rob Flayhart has been a great volunteer citizen for years now.
I am sorry though you are not running for office this round.
