We have been in consultation with the Port Deposit Police Chief to address the concerns of citizens who wish to assist by posting information on a Blog..
PLEASE DO NOT POST INFORMATION ABOUT CRIME IN THIS BLOG!
We have created another Blog which is being tested to insure a double blind comment structure.
This will enable posters to write the Police Chief Anonymously,
as well only the Chief will be able to read the comments.
So that that those doing the Crime(s)
cannot read about it online and be warned.

I only know what I hear,
which is a lot on talk on the street (Main Street that is). Some of these guys are pretty cocky and confident.
be nice to see them cuffed and out of town!

every 23 minutes a crime is committed in Port Deposit.
62.61 crimes a day. (obviously this is only an estimate)
though if you concider the amount of cash generated by our drug dealers who gloat their success you may wonder if the number is small or the buys-bigger?
This too leads to question as to how are those who cannot even function socially are getting the resourses to buy the junk?
petty theft?
Break-ins?
Vehicle robbery?
Thank God we do not and will not ever have pawn shops in this town.
But those shops that purchase questionable goods are at fault too.
Not sure how much I can say but the opne in Perryville is seriously congtributer to our problem -- they lie
they deceive even the police in investigations and ride the edge of it all -- claiming ignorance or we lost a reciept - sorry -haha
The time has come for increased accountability from those who offer cash for goods from those pawning. many are legit but too many are truly as great of thieves
as the those who may pawn.
Cameras for each transaction as well as receipts who change a lot.
The fine people in Port Deposit havn't seen anything yet. Just wait for people start moving in on compleation of the bainbridge project. Thats when crime will get worst.I've worked in Essex & all around the Balimore area. I've seen very nice neighborhoods go downhill quickly due to the drug problems
People need to get involved in helping the police by reporting all crimes that are committed in this fine town. We want to keep Port Deposit a nice place to live we all have to get invoved. Its a community effort. I'm involed to make Port Deposit the best & safest town & I'm no one here Just a concerned citizen.
Could it be considered a crime that none of the Town council or the future Mayor bothered to show up at the Presbyterian Church Chili Cook-off?
You know, it is a fund raiser.
the food was good, and there was plenty of advance notice.
I agree that some may not prefer Chili or had different plans
but being a small community where you know most everyone by name
it is easy to notice those missing.

Crime in port deposit??? I wasn't aware there was such a problem. Maybe if bainbridge was opened for the GOOD of the community, as in not being such a large number of homes built, with movie theater,skatepark,a gym or track...i mean shoot theres enough room. Restore the Tome Buildings as well...this would cease these "crimes" you speak of, or just stop the boringness of the great town of Port Deposit that used to be a place of respect and dignity.
Now its a trashhole. Thanks to EVERYONE,old and young,responsible adults and young children,we all are to blame at least one time or another. Be open minded. Think when you were younger...would you enjoy being in a town where the only thing to do was to cause "trouble" which was defined by older folk as anything but sitting in your rocking chair! I am just saying please restore the life of Port Deposit.I love looking at old pictures of our beloved Town...i only WISH i grew up in that age, and well,possibly your age. Think about that. Cocaine is a problem, as well as heroin in which my family has had a member dwindle in...but marijuana??? You remember when you used to use marijuana...and sit there...and laugh..Yeah thats it. No more,no less, Marijuana is a drug that enables you to watch your TV and simply laugh at life, and enjoy it in such a currently lifeless town. I admit, i tend to smoke. I AM YOUNGER(21),so i am the future of this town...but i flat out am against any form of alcohol consumption, that drug kills people, as well as cigarettes and cigars. If you drink,and are waging a war on drugs in port deposit, your a hypocrite,and frankly, a person of not much intellect,or prespective. Alcohol and cigarettes kill more people than ALL ILLEGAL DRUGS COMBINED. One more touch on marijauana...lets put it in a timeframe,Marijuana has killed...no one...ever. Please restore the dignity and pride to this town in which i love so much!!! thank you all for taking time to read this.
