The Town needs a good Spring Cleaning!

from Name your topic

We need a good Spring Town Cleaning!
  • Where are town limits?
  • Who is responsible for cleaning the sides of the roads?
The trash on the side of the roads in and out of Port Deposit is horrible.
Old tires, paper, plastic bags, aluminum cans and what else who knows.

But when you drive past it makes us look like we are uncaring.

For years some group used to clean the shoreline? Is that group still in existence?

Was it the Greenway Heritage or Heritage Greenway?

As for the town cleanup.
It should be a no-brainer before the growth of spring you clean up around your homes

I do!

Around town - may be it is not in the Town maintenance job description - by the way they do a great job

But I have seen the tires at the south end on the shoulder of the road among other rubbish.

Not all of us have the ability to remove things like this nor the strength to lift larger debris.
And where do you put it once you help?

Do not think that the trash collectors would fancy taking old tires. Even if they were not mine.

Unfortunately, cleanups on a grander scale require organization and the will to see it through.

Whether you like him or not Benny could get it done.

Not to beat up on the current lot
but someone needs to show leadership on the simple obvious things too.

My name is not important

At one time too the state gave matching money for donated hours the community spent doing cleanups.
I know that I had to sign my name to a list when Dianne Stackwick was in office as did everyone who helped clean the town back then

What has happened to our little town?

FYI The Lower Susquehanna Heritage Greenway is sponsoring a River Sweep this weekend April 21 from 10-1 locally in Port Deposit's Marina Park.
You can call Town Hall 410 378-2121
for more info, but feel free to just show up and m,ake the town look better.

The need for a better notification system for the town events it apparent.

It is by chance that you often find out about things too late.

Dear Nell,
I am sorry that we did not catch Snidley Wiplash in action litering Main Street,
Please post what major debris you speak here and it will be removed or reported to the proper State or County crews
Some parts of the roads are legally outside town countrol.

Yours truly,
