Other than former Soviet bloc nations, when in fact they were Soviet bloc nations and Saddam Hussein’s Iraq, most governments do offer their citizens more than one candidate for any given office. Our town, not to be out done by these formerly mentioned paragons of enlightened governance, can not even offer sufficient candidates to fill all positions. In light of this we believe that the time has come for our town to consider other forms of government. We further suggest an absolute and heretical Monarchy. This, of course, raises the question of who to crown King/Queen of Port Deposit. After much consideration it is our belief that our town would be nobly served by His Royal Majesty Otis the 1st, or if you prefer in the Roman style as we do, Emperor Otious Maximus. As for disposition of present elected officials we could no doubt find for them positions within King Otis’s court.
