In most cases write PennDOT if it is a grade crossing, bridge over RR or a RR over road bridge. Most of the whining I hear falls into the "not in my backyard" category. Did you get a good deal on your house? Did the title say that the RR would never increase traffic? I don't think we have to worry about the good old days of the railroads having unsuppressed power but rather we need to look forward to a time when we all are not sitting in stop and go traffic on route 81 wondering how the people living next to the highway feel. Maybe, screw them.Joehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16242611398601483307noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4797096855393927065.post-46100589961056524262007-05-11T23:05:00.000-05:002007-05-11T23:05:00.000-05:00(born and raised) more than i can say for most of ...(born and raised) more than i can say for most of the people here,if you are one of them please forgive me,i bet all of the people complaining about the rail road have a model train set in their basement or attic of a sweet little river town, with a bait shop, bar, garage, boats, country club,,and of course a train running through the middle,, awww, you forgot the noise ,dust grease and grime, please take the good with the bad people , THE FUGITIVE,,ps. big stripers up by the first rock pile(only real port people would know where that was)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4797096855393927065.post-39200251715816580802007-05-08T10:56:00.000-05:002007-05-08T10:56:00.000-05:00Whiners,The election was advertised multiple times...Whiners,
The election was advertised multiple times in the Whig. But they worked hand in hand.

But also consider that all water rights, to the river were confiscated - by adverse possession albeit with compensation. To build the railroad retainer wall to raise the height to a 500 year flood plain.

BUT AGAIN even the access granted by the underpasses to the river - hard fought by our forefathers in the late 1920’s has gone away with newly erected gates and access privileges long forgotten by our council and mayor.

It is a crime that we have lost so many of our rights and privileges to the river.

The railroad serves no good purpose to our town.
They do not stop and pick up or drop off passengers like in years past.
They do not contribute to our well being in the community.
Yet, they are the largest landowner in town with none of the responsibilities.

go figure?
-JQPAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4797096855393927065.post-6613098160499594042007-04-19T08:23:00.000-05:002007-04-19T08:23:00.000-05:00It is as if the Railroad is a separate nation.
